Smile Help with connecting Wires to New ERC Control
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JGRC14GEP1BG
Age: More than 10 years

Hello,
I am trying to connect the electrical wires to the correct terminals for a new Oven ERC control. This is for a GE Gas Wall Oven Model no. JGRC14GEP1BG. The new ERC (part no. WB27T10327) is very different from the original ECR control. The installation directions that came with the new part are not clear and are confusing me. Does anyone have a wiring schamatic or drawing they can send me or describe how to hook up each wire to the correct terminal so I know the new ERC is connected properly? I called partselect to verify that they sent me the correct part based on the model number I provided to them and they said I did receive the correct part. Hope someone responds to me to save the day. Thank You

Hello Sheila,
The instructions did not cover the GE Wall Oven model no. JGRC14GEP ERC Wiring hook-up well at all. For example, I had a three pin connector plugged into the original ERC control. The new replacement ERC had a five pin. There was no mention in the instructions to cut the White wires from the original harness and connect them to the new adapter. There were other wires that were not mentioned either and I had to really think about how to hook up everthing correctly. The oven is properly wired with the new ERC and is working great now. All I am saying is make sure the procedures are verified for each model oven so one doesn't waste a lot of time and possibly damage a part because of bad installation procedures.
