Default Need help in removing a hidden bake element.
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GJP84802 Type 30P
Age: 5 - 10 years

How do I access the bake element for replacement?
I have been told to remove the element through the bottom. I have removed two layers of sheet metal only to be welcomed by yet another. I was told to do it from the back , there again I removed one layer and yet another appears. Which way should I go from under the stove or from the back????
And yes it is a product of Canada.

You have to remove the bake element from the back.

There is a flange that has for screws in it two on each side of where the element stick out of the back.

Remove the screw and bend the flange down as far as they will go.

If the element has never been replaced before you will have to cut the insulation.

Make sure you make a nice clean cut.

Push the two piece of the insulation out of the way so you can remove the element.

Remove the four mounting bracket screws and the two hidden bake element bracket screws.

Carefully pull the hidden element and its mounting bracket out of the range.
