Default Grill element
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: CP320B
Age: More than 10 years

I installed a new grill element (04100124) on my Jenn-Air grill and both units on the element come on regardless of the control knob used. Do I need to swith the clip shunt on the grill element to correct this problem.

One of the switches are bad. If you have a ohm meter, shut the breaker off to the oven, and take the control panel off, and what you need to do is ohm out the switch. Take the wire off of L!, and make sure the switch is on off, and put 1 lead to L1, and the other to H1, if you get a reading on ohms, with the switch off, that's your bad switch. Check the other switch too. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
