Default Glasstop burner broken
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: jbp68h0d1ww
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a GE Spectra electric oven with a glasstop about 5 years old. My left back burner will turn on but it will only heat to high no matter where i turn the knob. If I have it on low or anywhere in between it still stays on high. Is this a problem with the knob or the wiring?

Neither, replace the switch that controls that burner, and it will solve your problems. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

It will work. If the new switch is different, they will have each terminal marked, for instance, 1 terminal will be marked H1, take that wire off, and put it on the terminal on the new one that has H! marked on it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
