Default Glass cooktop switches Jennair Jed8430adb series 17
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JED8430ADB series17
Age: 1 - 4 years

I need to replace the fan switch and the infinite burner switch on my cooktop. the part from partselect.com for the burner switch (outside right switch) is 90 degrees out of phase, that is it shows off at 9 oclock position or 3 oclock, and it needs to point straight down. I am unsure of which part to order, as there are several listed. I know it isn't the one I have.PS120475.

The fan control switch is totally different than the one that came with the range. PS893348, and that is the only one offered. The original has three wires into the round metalic switch body, and a "popup" button sitting in an open plastic attachment bracket. the replacement is a rectangular with two attachment spades. I've rma'd both switches, so any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

That is where I started this odyssey. the parts people over on the help line suggested posting to the forum, as they couldn't figure it out.

Did you take the model number off the tag on your cook-top or off the manual?

Can you also provide the full serial number?

Is the infinite heat switch for a signal burner or the duel burner.

I will try and see if I can help with this problem.

the codes came off the cooktop JED8430ADB, 17700272CEE

here are pictures, the first is of the burner switch for the small back burner. far right switch, the replacement (71001166) is 90 degrees off (off being at 9 instead of 6 oclock) , and it has a green mark on the tip of the shaft, which the original lacks.

The other issue is the fan switch. the original shown here on the left, is completely different than the one supplied (74009254) I have rma for these switches and will return them now that I have pictures.

I appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Maytag seems to only have the fan switch on the right 74009254.

I think I may have the burner switch mystery solved.

There are three different switch in your cook top.

Here is the part number for the switch is 74011242.

Can you give me the numbers off your burner switch and the fan switch.
