GE wall oven timer/clock 'expired' Brand: General Electric Model Number: JKP38G0J6BG Age: More than 10 years Late last week, my oven timer alarm sounded off for the last time. The timer/clock went dead (dark). The knobs & push buttons have no effect. Well, I thought, I don't really need a timer or clock there because I have other timers and clocks. That is not quite true. It seems that the timer/clock module is a required part of the self-cleaning cycle. No clock - no cleaning cycle!
GE says they no longer make the part needed. However, there appear to be a number of similar modules available from on-line parts sites like partselect. I think I first need to remove mine and then find one of similar size, shape, and electrical characteristics to 'plug-in'. I can probably resolve connector mismatches for the wiring. So, I have two questions:
1) anyone know where I can get a {free} manual or diagram, to help me with the disassembly?
2) Any suggestions on a replacement part for the clock module?
Thanks,
