Default GE Replacement Timer need lens?
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JSP48G
Age: More than 10 years

The old style electro-mechaical clock/timer on my GE range needed to be replaced. I ordered a replacement from PartSelect which is an electronic style made to replace the old one. The mounting hardware and electrical terminals all look compatable, but the old glass lens does not fit the new timer. I cannot imagine using the new timer without a lens to keep it clean. PartSelect show that the lens is "no longer available". What are my options?

Hi,

You could post a WANTED ad in the classifieds at ApplianceJunk.com, it's free.

Looked at the electronic timer and it looks like it does not require a glass lens
You have to be able to push the buttons so it is unlikely a lens is available
You could make your own with some double sided tape and clear plastic but may not look too pretty
Could also look around for a touchpad protector from electronics suppliers
