Default GE Profile 30" wall oven--ERC code F-7
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JT910SA
Age: 5 - 10 years

My GE wall oven keeps throwing F-7 failure codes. When this first started it was still under warranty,& both the key panel and control were replaced. About a year later the oven light would ( on it's own ) would go on and off 15-20 times in as many seconds, then show an F-7 code. After resetting everything was OK for several days, then it would do it again. Now it is only giving the F-7 code, no light on & off, the clear button will not clear the code. If I disconnect the power, disconnect & reconnect the ribbon cable, then reconnect the power, it functions normally for several days, then through the F-7 again. I have performed the tests as described in the technical data sheet that came with the oven, everything is within prescribed tolerances. My question is this, which is more likely the problem, the Keypad or control module.

Thanks

Tom
The fix sounds and looks simple enough, howsomever on mine there is not enough space to slip the paper in. There seems to be glue or somthing coming out of the slot preventing me to slide anything in. I don't know how old the ovens in the posting are but mine is just over 5 years old. Suppose the Mfgs. have made a mod.?

Thanks
Fritz
