Default GE Hotpoint trouble converting from Nat to LP gas
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: RGB533WEHW
Age: Less than 1 year

Hi, I recently bought a new GE Hotpoint range model RGB533WEHW. I had to convert it to LP, all the top burners work perfectly, but I cannot seem to get the oven right. The conversion says to turn the Lower burner orifice hood hood 2 1/2 turns counter clock wise, I have done that, but when I turn on the oven I get major flames, about 1 to 1 1/2 blues with about 5 to 8 inch yellow tips, I know this is not correct, so I have turned it the other way aswell but still cannot get the flames to reduce in size. Also turned the air shutter and nothing seems to be working.

Any advice is appreciated.

Oscar

you need to turn the orifice hood all the way ( clockwise) till it bottoms out. Have had some that feel like they are tight but still needed about 1/2 more of a turn. Once it bottoms try it out. If the flame still looks too high tighten it a little more.
If you have a seperate broil burner you will have to do the same . Hope this helps.
