Default GE Electric Range heating element
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JBP79W
Age: 5 - 10 years

The inner element of the largest heating element (bottom right hand corner -- it has an inner and an outer element) of my JBP79W General Electric Profile Spectra freestanding range doesn't heat up.
What could be causing this?
If the whole element needs to be replaced, how do I get the glass top to reach this and replace it?
Thanks

That's part nimber 71 on Parts Select for your model. If you go to that site and look at the parts diagram which is a "blow-up" of the unit you should be able to figure out how to raise the glass surface. That unit is a two element unit and apparently the low unit coil burnt out. The whole unit has to be replaced. PL
