Default GE Electric Double Oven
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JTP28W
Age: 1 - 4 years

Our oven is completely inoperable. It shut itself off while it was heating up a couple days ago. It is hardwired in and we are unable to get an appointment for someone to come out till June 18th. That day we had numerous power outages, could that have something to do with it?

Thanks for your help!!!

Does anything work?

Can you turn the light on?

Please verify your model number as it is missing a few characters at the end.

If the interior light comes on, you probably have power going to the oven. The problem may be in the control circuitry. My oven did the same thing and eventually I got the dreaded F7 error message. I have a fix that may work for you. If you email me at hutchipop@yahoo.com, I will send you my free illustrated set of instructions to determine where the problem may be and what to do about it. I have already helped 860 folks this past year. GE and Kenmore have a design flaw in ovens going back to 1998. You have nothing to lose but your time to open the top of the oven.
