Default Ge double oven with a f7 code
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: jtp56wod1ww
Age: 5 - 10 years

My display list a f7 code. I have turned power off to unit and waited 30 seconds and turned on. I was told a bad display pad. Is that correct. The part number given was a wb36t10507. Please let me know if that would be the correct way to fix this oven. Thanks Mark

The code does mean that there is a problem with the key pad.

Here is a link to your oven model jtp56wod1ww.

Hi, I'm the chap who has cracked the F7 code. I have supplied the solution to over 860 folks in the past year. No cost envolved. I have a set of instructions I will be happy to send to anyone who requests it. Send me an email at hutchipop@yahoo.com and I will be most happy to send you the illustrated set of instructions, free, no strings attached. The solution can be made in 30 minutes or less and it requires no special parts. All you need is a screw driver. The problem is caused by a design flaw in all GE and Kenmore ovens made since 1998. Some folks have indicated they have solved the problem by cleaning the ribbon cable. This is a myth. It only produces short term results as it does not address the root cause of the problem.
Regards,
Powerman
