Default GE Burners & Oven won't come on
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: MP26002AD
Age: More than 10 years

Our GE built in stove & oven suddenly stopped heating up, (both burners and oven.) Yet the lights work in both the oven and on the stove top. Could this be a fuse problem? And, how do we access the main 220 plug in so we can safely replace any necessary parts? We assume this is the original built in that was installed in the house which was built in 78'.

Thanks for your help!

If you have cartridge type fuses in your fuse panel it will be hard to tell without a meter if on is opened.

The best way to tell is with a meter.

If the fuses check out to be good then you will have to check your range.

If there is a wire burnt off in the back of the range you will have to remove it from it installed position.

If the range is wired in and can not be unplugged remove the fuses from the fuse panel of your home.

This will make it safe to work on.

Because of the age of the range I can not bring up a breakdown of you range.
