Unhappy GE 27 inch drop in range ?
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JMP29GOR1BK
Age: More than 10 years

Our GE range/oven is a 27 inch drop in unit that is at least 13 yrs old. Currently the oven heats but is 75 to 100 degrees off from the digital diplay. We can replace the oven with and identical model or cut cabinets and put in a modern flat top 30 inch. Is there a replacement oven control for this older model? I have found the part #PS238186 for similar but not exact model number.

Also, does any other manufacturer make a 27 inch range?

Thanks

Here is a link to your range model JMP29GOR1BK.

It is showing that the oven control for your range is no longer available.

There is a place in Oklahoma that repairs oven controls.

Here is the web site stove clock repair WB19X5231

Here is a number for General Electric
US 1-800-626-2005 Canada 1-877-959-8688.

They may have a replacement control available.

Also if the temperature gage that you are using in the oven is one that you pick up in the grocery store or a hardware store it could be faulty.
