Amana gas range will no longer self clean. I get 3 dashes on the LED display separated by commas and no error code. Model TGF (or TGE) 364AQD, s/n VF24302892. It was purchased Dec 10, 2002 and the self cleaning has only been used 2 - 3 times. The door will not lock.

If I heat it up to 550 which is the highest it will go, will that self clean it anyway and if so, how long would I leave the oven on?

If the door does not lock the oven will not go into the self-clean cycle.

550 degrees will not clean the oven.

The will reach about 900 degrees for the clean cycle and that is why there is a lock on the door.

You will have to check the wiring connection to the clock and see if there is a loose wire in the clean circuit.
