Unhappy Gas Oven will not turn off

My stove has been turning on by itself. The actual oven is. I was cooking on top of the stove a couple of days ago and the oven became hot. When I opened the door, it was on. I checked the knob(temperature) to see if it was on and it was off. I took the knob off to try to rotate the temperature control and it never shut off. If I have to use the top of the stove, the oven comes on and when I am done using the top of the stove, I have to pull the oven out to turn off the gas and unplug the cord out of outlet.
