 Gas Oven not holding temp/cycling Brand: Kenmore Model Number: 911-30469893 Age: 5 - 10 years
The igniter is new and works. Oven will light and come up to temp, then igniter (and then gas) goes off. When temp decreases by 20 deg. F. the igniter goes on, but no gas follows. Once the door is opened and a gust of air hits the oven, the gas goes on and ignites, coming up to temp, then turning off as above, repeating the cycle. Oven orifice has been cleaned and carefully adjusted. A repairman from Sears says I might try replacing the control valve (a costly experiment). Can anyone shed some light on this dilemma? |
