Default Gas not turning on in oven
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: TGF605WFW5
Age: 1 - 4 years

Input to igniter = 110 V-AC
Output of igniter / input to gas valve = 7 V-AC

Resistance across the gas valve's terminals = 0.8 ohms

Is there a manual I can purchase that shows the correct voltage drop across the resistance style gas igniter, the required input voltage to the gas valve, and correct resistance across the gas value terminals? I need these values and any others the manual can supply to understand which piece in the circuit is causing the gas valve not to open.

check the ignitor color. if it is a bright orange color 90% of coil the ignitor is good. the gas regulator could be off or not regulating properly. also check the orifice of the safety valve to make sure it is clear from blockage.

Other than inspecting the system visually is there a manual where I can determine specific system values (e.g. resistance, voltage, amperage, etc.) to diagnose the system? This will help me not have to buy the igniter and gas valve to see which one is bad then try to justify returning the part that did not need to be replaced.
