Default Found Model #--This Is Problem F-2
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 64HN-4TKVW EV
Age: 5 - 10 years

My daughter finally found what looks like the model #. 64HN-4TKVW EV. The serial number is: 35C145886062.
The code is F-2 and the oven beeps. Is there a way to shut the beeping off till the repair is made?
From what I've read it appears this is the oven temp sensor.
What would be the fix on this particular model? And is the repair something her boyfriend can handle if he is some what handy and has some mechanical ability?
Thanks.

If he has a meter he can check the sensor.

The sensor should have 1100 ohms resistance at room temperature.

There may be a problem with the relay board.

The F2 on a Magic Chef can mean either a faulty relay or sensor.

Here is a link to your range model 64HN-4TKVW.

The relay board is number 10 on the body parts breakdown.

Here is the oven sensor.

My daughtor was incapable of handling the problem. She called a repair service in DC and told them the error code was F-2. They told her they would have to replace the oven sensor (which I knew) and control panel. Cost would be $400. This is over the phone without looking at the problem. Does this sound right?

I don't think that they should have to replace both.

If the sensor is found to be faulty then that is all they should have to replace.

If the sensor is found to be good then it would be the control.

Not both.

Sheila,

Thanks for your quick reply. Lets say both need to be replaced, does this price of $400 sound correct? I tried to find the control panel part on partselect.com but for some reason it would not recognize the model number: 64 HN-4TKVW EV.

The price of $400.00 sound to be about right with parts and labor.

The price of the clock at PartSelect is $225.72 part number PS132062.

The price of the sensor at PartSelect is $37.00 part number PS46172.

You will have to have your serial number when ordering the clock because there is one listed that is no longer available.

Enter your model number in PartSelect like this 64hn-4tkvw leaving the ev off the end or click on the link that I provided in one of the previous posts.
