Unhappy Flat Ceramic Burner
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MER6770AAW
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Large Front Ceramic Burner Went Out. I Hard A Pop Sound And That Was It . The Buner Will Not Heat At All. Any Suggestion On How To Repair/replace?

It may be the switch that needs to be replaced.

Check the switch with a volt meter and your wiring diagram.

Check the voltage coming in and out of the switch.

Just be careful your are dealing with 240 volts.

You can also check the element from the back with an ohm meter.

Here is a link to your range model MER6770AAW.

If the element needs to be replaced open the oven door and remove the screws that hold the top down.

Raise the top slightly and move it slightly forward.

Label and disconnect the wire harness.

Remove the top and place in a protected area with underside up.

Remove the screws securing the element to the assembly.

Reassemble in the reverse order.
