Default Fagor Oven.. Help
Brand: Other
Model Number: FAGOR FBI-900
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi everyone.. am new to this so excuse any mistakes...
ok. I bought a second hand double oven yesterday.. after wiring it up I found that the oven doesn't work(no power light)and the the grill blows the 40amp mcb in the fuse box,a few seconds after I turn it on, at first I assumed it was the wiring but am pretty sure thats not the prob. I am told it could be the thermostat or elements,am sure it could be any number of things.... any help or advice on what could be faulty, how to test or proceed with this would be very much appreciated. many thanks in advance..

I don't think it is a problem with the oven.

It sound like you have it wired wrong.

hi Shiela..thanks for the reply..i disconnected the shower that i newly wired in 2 months ago and connected that wiring to the oven, and the exact same thing happened, at times it looks like the grill works, then it suddenly trips the rcb, or it trips it when I turn the oven switch off. I am confident that I have wired it in correctly.the local appliance technician thinks it could be the element(disconnected that today for testing) I will again check the wiring just incase I have done something silly.. I pray thats not the answer after the time and effort I have spent on this.. .. any other ideas?

Check the wiring in the oven for a wire that may be burnt off and contacting the cabinet of the oven.

You definitely have a short circuit.
