Angry F5 code
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: SVE47500w
Age: More than 10 years

Oven won't come on. When try to set the oven temp get F5 code. already replaced the control bd. What ohm reading should the sensor read? Could it be the sensor, and, or the relay bd.?

F5 indicates a bad connection on the relay board.

The temperature sensor should read 1100 ohm at a 75 degree room temperature.

Here is a link to your range model SVE47500w.

Default F5 Code

Replaced electronic clock assembly on Jenn-Air Model W30400W recently. Display was totally out. After installing I got the F5 code. Is it possible that this electronic board is no good? Or what could be the problem?

cause for f-5 code could be intermittent oven temp sensor or wire harness or intermittent contact on power relay board

Hi Mountainman,

I don't know what F5 means, but maybe you can tell me what FC means. Today I spilled some tea on my stovetop and I think some spilled on the back of the stove, maybe onto the relay board. Do you think it will dry out and be ok? I turned off the circuit breaker for the stove and I'll try it out again in a few hours. Do you know if there's a list of all the "f" codes somewhere? Thanks.

The FC stand for fault code.

It means that there is a problem with the board.

In your case tea.

If no damage has occurred once the tea has dried it may work.

Thank you for your reply. You were right. After it dried, it worked fine. I was wondering if, since it is computerized, if unplugging the appliance and then replugging will reset the computer. Similar with our TV sets. Sometimes they go crazy and need to be rebooted to reset them. Anyway, I'm happy I didn't need to buy a new stove this weekend.
