Default F3 code oven shutdown
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: JGRP16GET2BB
Age: More than 10 years

Oven heats up then randomly shuts down with F3 fault code. Also does same with F7 code sometimes. What can I do to diagnoe the problem and fix it?

Thank for any help provided.

FRIGIDAIRE
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes Version 1
Failure
Code Condition Check/Repair
F2 Oven temp is above design specifications Oven temp has risen above 665F and door unlocked or above 965F with door locked. Check oven temperature sensor.
F3 The oven temperature sensor is open Check for open wire connection between EOC (Electronic Oven Control - Clock) and the oven temperature sensor. Replace sensor if no wiring problem.
F4 The oven temperature sensor is shorted Check for shorted wire and/or connections between the EOC (Electronic Oven Control - Clock) and the oven temperature sensor. Replace sensor if no wiring problem.
F5 The watchdog is active when it should be off Microprocessor checking the operation of the EDC relay, after selection of bake, broil, or clean operation. Relay failed this check.
F6 No 60 Hz time base 60 Hz time base is required for time controlled cycling. Replace EDC.
F7 Lock motor relay watchdog circuit is active when it should be off Microprocessor checking the operation of the EDC lock, relay failed. Replace EDC.
F8 Lock motor relay watchdog is active when it should be off Microprocessor checking the operation of the EDC lock relay after self clean is selected, relay failed. Replace EDC.

F1 Circuit board defective Replace control board
F2 1. The oven temp has risen above 665F and the door is not locked or
2. The temp has risen above 965F with the door locked 1. Check oven temp in mode that failure occurred. Replace EOC (Electronic Oven Control) if above limits
2. Check 8-pin connector. Check and replace oven temperature sensor if necessary
F3 Oven temperature sensor is open (above 3000 ohms) Check resistance of oven temperature sensor, check for open wiring between oven temperature sensor and control
F4 Oven temperature sensor is shorted (below 500 ohms) Check resistance of oven temperature sensor, check for shorted wiring between oven temperature sensor and control
F5 Internal watchdog circuit has detected a failure Defective EOC (Electronic Oven Control)
F6 Shorted buttons Check push buttons and dome switches on control
F8 Logic interrupted (lock motor switch sequence) Check door lock switches and wiring
