Question ERROR CODE F1 Kenmore Range
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 362.7391594
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just acquired this range: Kenmore Range Model 362.7391594.
It sat in my canopied truck for 3 weeks and there was some condensation on it even though it was coverd (we live in a rainy, cold area).

It was working fine when replaced by the people I got it from.
When I hooked it up, I got the F1 error and a constant beeping which will not clear.
I unplugged and re-plugged it in with he same result.

I would like help with the code and also, can anyone tell me where to get the repair manual for it (I generally fix all of my own appliances).

Thanks a lot,
- Carlos

The F1 code stand for a stuck key on the clock control.

Check for moisture in the key pad of the clock.

The range was made for Sears by General Electric so you may want to contact them for service information.

You can find general service manual at some book stores.

Here is the number for General Electric
US 1-800-626-2005 Canada 1-877-959-8688.

Here is a link to a list of the parts of your range model 362.7391594.

Hi again Shiela [or anyone else who can help].
I was told that the F1 code indicates a failed thermister. I am quite handy at fixing things I to a picture of the timer board, could you indicates to me which part is the thermistor so that when I take it apart I can attempt to replace it?

thanks again,
- Carlos

Hy Sheila, or anyone else that can help.
Please look at the enclosed image and tell me if someone can identify the thermistor, which according to another source is the failed part [F1 error code].

thanks a lot,
- Carlos

I'm not sure of your source but the fault code of F 1 on a range is not a thermistor error.

It is a communication error between the key pad and the board.

Check the ribbon cable for corrosion and the pin connectors on the board.

Use some rubbing alcohol to clean the connection this will also take care of any moisture on the connection.

Thank you Sheila. I sure do appreciate your help. I will definitely check this out this coming weekend as the stove is at another location.
This is a great forum.
