Oven usually won't light without help. We discovered that the oven will light if we tap the bake valve. We have to monitor the temperature as it sometimes doesn't come back on when the oven cycles to control temp. The ignitor does glow. The burner sometimes doesn't light on both sides or all the way to the front. The oven sometimes lights with a growl and small boom. We can often smell gas strong enough to require venting. I was thinking about replacing the bake valve but after reading entries on this forum think maybe the ignitor is weak. Can a gas valve get sticky and can it be cleaned? Gas company says supply pressure is correct. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |
