Default Elements not working
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FEFL77ABE
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Frigidaire electric range model#FEFL77ABE. Last year while cooking Thanksgving dinner the breaker tripped. Reset breaker and no problems. My wife was cooking last night when the breaker tripped again. She reset the breaker and was able to finish cooking in the oven but none of the top elements would work. I got to chekcing it out this morning and top elements and the oven elements will work. There are no trouble codes on the display, the display works fine and the red indicator light comes on when you try to turn on an element or the oven. Got any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Is everything working again or are the top elements still not working?

It sounds like there is either a bad connection in the stove or in your house wiring.

Check the wiring in the stove where the power cord comes in for loose connections.

Here is a link to your range model FEFL77ABE.

Thanks for the reply Sheila. I saw numerous posts about this same problem and it seemed that the eoc was the cuplrit. But you always said to check the voltage first. After doing some calling around and searching the internet for a new eoc, I decided to go to Home Depot(lowes didn't have what I wanted) to get a multimeter. I came home, pulled the stove BACK out, took off the small panel to expose the main terminal block(because the meter probs weren't long enough to check the outlet) and I had 119v on one leg and zero on the other. Went outside to check the breaker and again one leg was 119v and the other was zero. Went to Lowes(it was closer) and purchased a 40 amp dbl/throw breaker for $8.51 and viola! The wife can cook again.......if she feels like it!

Thanks,
Steve
