Default Electric whirlpool oven burner on low is not warm
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: 465

I have a Whirlpool Electric Stove: self cleaning super capacity 465 . The front left electric coil does not heat at "low or 1" temperature. I switched the coils/burner and it still does not heat at 'low or 1'.

Any advice?

Linda,

Is the front left electric coil heating at other temperatures?

Yes...... but I am also finding a couple of issues: there is arcing that is occuring inside the switch, there is a part that is white and round like a bottle cap with two wires extending from it and these wires have soot on them. I think this part may be the thermostat, but not sure. I may have a greater problem than an infinite switch.

Can you provide your complete model number? How old is your range?

It's probably your infinite control switch. Here's the part. Does this look like what you're looking at?
