I do not have the model number.

When I put the oven on at 350 degrees, the element on the top (broiler) stayed on and would not go off. So, things are burning. Can I just remove the top element and not use the broiler or will it disengage the bottom element that heats the oven?

If this is an older model the broil element is part of the preheat.

If you remove the broil element from the oven you will have to disconnect the wires from the control.

Can you please supply your model number?
