Default Electric Dual burner not fully heating up
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MER6770AAB
Age: 5 - 10 years

I may have two problems but both problems started at the same time. First, the hot surface light stays lit for the front right dual burner even when cold. Second, the dual burners (inner and outer) glow as bright as the other burners when on but seen to cycle off way too often. The dual burner will "slow simmer" food at best. Will not boil water as they spend more time cycling off than cycling on. Again, both will work independently or together, but neither are maintaining any usable cooking temperature. Is it the switch? Limiter? or burner? I am willing to change all unless you suggest one at a time. Please help!

Your problem would be the limiter.

The limiter is weak cause the element to cycle on the limiter.

The hot light is also connect in the limiter by an other set of contacts which are staying closed.

Here is a link to your range model MER6770AAB.
