Smile Electric ceramic cooktop
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GJC3034GQO
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool gold electric ceramic cooktop. The left front dual burner is only partially heating - the outer unit is heating but the center unit is not lighting and you can feel only a slight heat. Will I have to replace the burner or could a wire be loose, since part of the unit is heating? Please advise so I can repair it myself.

If you turn the inner part of the burner on and you are getting some heat it is likely the switch that is faulty.

If the coil is faulty it will not heat at all.

There are two coils in the duel burner.

Here is a link to your cook top model GJC3034GQ0.
