Hi All,

I have a Whirlpool Oven (Model : RBS305PDQ6) that started beeping and displayed an error code E3 - F2. I have searched the internet and have not found that code listed anywhere for Whirlpool, however it seems to relate to the keypad. I wasn't using the oven at the time the error code appeared. I read some other posts that displayed the same behavior I am seeing...the keypad is unresponsive, except that some of the buttons turn the light on in the oven. I replaced the ERC board 8 months ago. I reset the cable from the keypad to the ERC board, but no change...still the same error code. I'm thinking it is the keypad...but before I buy a new oven or shell out $426 for a new keypad part, I thought I would ask to see if anyone has a suggestion.

Eric, I would replace the oven sensor. Most of my info says the sensor. If you have a local parts house, call them and once they give you your part number, ask them to cross it over to the Maytag #, because it is cheaper. The oven sensor is the rod that is in your oven, on the top left or top right. Take the 2 screws out and see oif you can pull it out. If it fights you, and most of the times it does, pull the back of the range panel of and unhook the molex connector, and the pull it through. Tom T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE

The Error Codes I have found for this model are the following:

4 Digit Failure Code
F1 - E1 Safety flip flop Replace board
F2 - E0 Shorted keypad Replace keypad
F3 - E0 Oven temperature sensor opened Replace oven temperature sensor
F3 - E1 Oven temperature sensor shorted Replace oven temperature sensor
F3 - E2 Oven too hot Replace oven temperature sensor
F3 - E3 Clean temp too hot Replace oven temperature sensor
F5 - E0 F5 - E1 and E2 Check door/latch switch Replace switch if defective

There is no E3-F2 in the list, however an F3-E2 would require a sensor replacement, which is a different code than I am getting. I read another post that stated that the E3-F2 code was a bad keypad, but the documentation was not official.

Unfortunatly the manufacturerer is not always specific. that code is not in my book either. With my 30 years expieience in this business, I have found trends. That's why I advise you to change the oven sensor. That's what I would do if ypu were my customer. It is the cheapest route. Tom

We just started seeing this same error code. The beeping is getting annoying and it's almost xmas. You decide on a plan of action yet?

Update: After reading Tom's post I went over to the oven and started pulling the touch pad off from the right side of the door. I didn't get to far before hearing a beep. I looked at the led and the clock was working. I pushed everything back into place and we'll see how long this works.
