Default Down draft exhaust
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: S125
Age: More than 10 years

The fan on the downdraft exhaust turns off itself after 15-20 mts. May be over heating ( just warm to the touch). It comes back on after 30 mts or so. Is there a time delay or getting old and needs replacement. Fan sucks all fumes very well when it runs. Pipes are clear. Is it worth replacing the fan? Any advice. Thanks.

It does sound as if the motor may be over heating.

Have you check the filter.

If the range is still in good shape and you are still happy with it then it is worth repairs.

Here is a link to your range model S125.
