Default Wall Oven

i have a double wall oven whose thermostat has gone out. Can anyone tell me how to replace the thermostat? Is it located at the control panel? Do I have to remove the oven from the wall?
GE Model #JKP 27WOW2WW
Thanks

Yes you have to take the oven out of the wall to put the sensing bulb in through the back of the oven.

The sensing bulb is a part of the thermostat.

Be careful not to bend the tube, it is filled with a gas and if it get broken the thermostat is no good.

Here is an exploded view of your oven model JKP27WOW2WW.

Sheila-repair forum staff
Regarding my GE wall oven Model #JKP 27WOW2WW that you responded to quig.
When I called part select I was told the part number for the thermostat for this model was PS235956 and you indicate part #P236043. Which is the correct #.
Thanks for your timely reply.

Ron

That's just plain wrong!

I wish they'd try to take the end user into account when designing these things...

Default thermostat problem

I am still having problem with knowing which thermostat to purchase for my GE wall oven. The model number imprinted on the inside of the oven is-J KP27WOW2WW and the serial # is RT6115660. I have been given the following 2 part numbers:
PS236043 and PS235956
can someone confirm which is the correct one for the upper over thermostat

Thanks
