Default Display showing off after new temp sensor
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mer5770aab
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi All,

I have a Maytag Oven mer5770aab. After a self cleaning mode the F1 fault code appeared. I replaced the oven temperature sensor (ordered from PartSelect)which was shorted and now the display shows off when I hit any control such as "Bake". Any idea what is wrong?

thanks Bob

The clock control is also faulty.

Here is a link to your range model mer5770aab.

Ok I found the problem. The clock was just in lock-out mode. Must have gone into that mode, perhaps when the power was off or something. All I had to do was hold down the control/Lock key to reset.
