Default Display disapears when oven is hot
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: SVE47500B
Age: 5 - 10 years

Display fades out when the oven gets hot but all functions appear to operate. This started happening after power was turned off then back on. I have read in this forum that "the clock is weak" will replacing the clock assy @ $130 actually fix problem? If it does not can the clock assy be returned?

Thanx
jp

Does the clock return to normal when the oven cools down?

Yes and no.

It is never as bright as it was when new, but it is able to be read. When it is hot the letters/numbers are so dim as to be unreadable. When it cools down it is again dim, but legible.

This does sound like the clock but as with all electrical parts they can not be returned if they have been installed.
