Default Disassembly & replace insulation around old oven
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: unknown
Age: More than 10 years

I have a very old GE Sensi-temp range that smells when using the oven. The range was out in the shed for a while so I'm guessing critters got into it.

I've looked all over this thing and I cannot find a model or S/N or even a date of manufacture. It's near 1960 by its style. If anyone knows where I should look on the range for this info please let me know. I don't see it anywhere.

I want to disassemble the oven and replace the insulation. It appears the walls and top/bottom of the inner oven is all one piece. There is a seam all around the rear wall so I'm assuming the majority of the oven slides out the front. It is held in place by screws inside the oven.

I have the screws out but the piece won't budge and there's not much to grab on to. Is anyone familiar with this type of range (see attached pic I found on the web)? Anyone have experience taking one apart?

Thanks.

I found the model number finally.

J 408V1GR

Any help on finding diagrams, either and exploded view of parts and/or wiring would be helpful.
thanks
