Question Dim Display on Wall Oven
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JMW8527
Age: 5 - 10 years

I ordered a "clock assembly" from EasyApplianceParts and it arrive on time and as ordered. When the part was nstalled and powered up, it worked for 10 sec. and then went up in smoke. Puttting the old part back in and all was OK except for the dim display yet. Looking at the new display showed Capacitor C11 had been burned up. What would cause C11 to fail? Was the new display defective or is there another problem? Judging from info on the web, Jenn Air has a major display problem and everyone can correct it by replacing the clock display, but why did C11 on it fail? PN is 71003424.
Thanls,JAL

I would say that you received a faulty clock.

There had to be something wrong with the clock or when you put your old one back in it should have failed also.

Here is a link to your oven model JMW8527.
