I have also encountered this problem. My old switch is a 7403P406-60. The replacement is 7403P831-60. The old switch has terminals: N 2 3 4 5. The new switch has terminals: P1 P2 S1 S2 2 4 4a. There are two jumper wires in the replacement kit. The instruction sheet is marked; 16023363 (replaces 16022704), Repair part number 12002125. My stove is a JennAir JES9800AAQ.
I agree, the instructions are very confusing and not clear at all as to how to connect the current wires to this switch. HELP!:
