Default Converting from Propane to Natural Gas
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JGD8348CDP
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello, I am new to this forum so please be patient. I have a Jenn-Air Cooktop that I have used for less than a year. It originally came with the natural gas orifices but we converted it to LP whenever we had it installed. We now need the natural gas orifices but can not locate them . We kept them but we can't find them. I have called many places to try to order them but no one has them available per their catalogs. I have called Jenn-Air and they are say that they are checking to see if they are available. Does anyone on this forum have any suggestions? I have spent the last two days trying to locate these parts. Please help!

As far as I can tell the orifices are not available with out buying the tubes.

By any chance did you tape the natural gas orifices to the bottom of the burner box where the LP ones were when you receive the unit.

Here is a link to your cook top model JGD8348CDP.

No, I did not tape the orifices to anything....I gave them to my husband for safe keeping. Evidently they are very safe because he can not find them. We have a 2400 square foot disorganized workshop so I can only assume they are somewhere in there.

As far as I can tell the parts, including the tubes, have been discontinued. I have tried many places to purchase the tubes but have not been able to find a supplier as of yet. It seems that whenever Jenn-Air became Maytag and then Whirlpool the parts were discontinued. I have actually used this appliance one year today and now I can not get most parts.

Thanks so much for your help but now can anyone help me locate the tubes with natural gas orifices. The parts numbers that I need are 71001043-71001046. I need two each of the 71001043 and 71001044. I need only one of each of the other two parts numbers.

Record The Btu Input Of Each Burner, And Find A Real Gas Service Man Whom Has Orifice Drills To Drill Out Each Orifice. From Propane To Natural You Can Just Drill Out To The Specified Rating. Natural To Propane You Have To Get New Orifices

Wishbone, thanks so much for the suggestion. I had not thought of that but it sounds like a good solution. Now the only problem is finding "A Real Gas Service Man Whom Has Orifice Drills To Drill Out Each Orifice". Does anyone have any suggestions in finding "A Real Gas Service Man Whom Has Orifice Drills To Drill Out Each Orifice", in Austin, Texas?
