CAUTION!! A friend of mine just got a new "High-End" ,model Range/Oven.He converted the orifices(Brass normally)that close the "Hole" or port(sometimes referred to as a "Jet",in Autiomotive circles. He closed the hole ,or tightened (OVERTIGHTENED!!)the Orifice,So tight,I can't unscrew it! He could have also stripped the threads too!The reason as you may know is Propane is higher "Pressure"/Volume,so to close down the flow versus Natural Gas(Lower pressure). Now He wishes he had the Propane Tech do it! Usually at your Dealer they call in Propane Techs to do this, not always available, same day!So impatience may cost my "pal",or he calls me to redo his MACHO tightening jobs! You cannot "Beardown" ,with a wrench on Brass fittings period...!!!He did,and now his fancy stainless steel $$$$ Range has NO oven, and will the Warranty(2 DAYS old!!) Hold Up???The manual said hand tighten these orifices! Then wrench to SNUG!!The Surface Burners had different markings,by BTUs /Burner size. What a nightmarefor him!!So heed my advice: He couldn't wait a day or two,and now its gonna be who knows how long ,before he has an OVEN?Get the LP/Propane Tech nearest you, worth every CENT!@! |
