Default Conversion from LP to natural gas
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: SEG 196
Age: More than 10 years

I'm converting my Jenn Air range from PL to natural gas. The stove was originally delivered for use with LP. I have contacted several parts suppliers, including Jenn Air who all claim that they do not supply the 4 orifices to make the conversion possible. They tell me that I will have to buy the entire burner tube for each of the 4 burners. They only sell a $10.00 conversion kit to go from natural gas to LP. Is there anyway I can possibly find these natural gas orifices, new or used? Is there a used appliance "junk yard" that might have them? Can I drill the LP orifices out to the right size for natural gas? Where can I find the specs to do this? In my search for these orifices, I've found many other people who own Jenn Air ranges that are having the same exact problem. Can anyone help me? My model # is SEG 196. Thank-you. John

Sorry when the unit was new it would have had orifices for natural gas.

If it was converted be for it was delivered check the range to see it the orifices where left in a package taped to the inside somewhere.

If not the only way to get the natural gas orifice is with the tubes.

Here is a link to your range model SEG 196.

After many, many attempts on the Internet and with phone calls, I found a specialized machine shop in Denver that actually makes gas orifices! All they needed was my BTU specs and my altitude. They drilled holes in brand new orifice hoods and voila! All for less than the cost of long distance phone call. The company is: Anderson & Forrester. They have been in business since 1928 and they specialize in orifices, gas conversion fittings and gauging drills. Their web site is: The “One Source” For Fittings and Gas Orifices - Anderson & Forrester The contact name is Sid Kemp
