Default Control panel OR adaptor board needed
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ARTC8600WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Our electric range is giving F1 code and beeping when plugged in, but does not beep if the oven is turned on. So I can either run the oven non-stop (!) or plug in the appliance and run the oven even if I need only the stovetop - or get a new part. We replaced the adaptor board 5 years ago. I looked at it and saw that the clip/bar that holds the ribbon from the electronic panel has one broken tensor, which could effect the connection and thus give the beep? When I described the problem to the repair places they said likely it's the control panel. Both parts are close to $200. Should I pay for a service call to determine which part to buy?
Thanks
Vonnie

Unplug control panel ribbon cable. The oven now should not beep. This confirms bad control panel.

Default Still beeps with F1 code

I unplugged the control panel ribbon cable (the clear one that goes from front of range through the hole to the adaptor board), but F1 still flashes and it still beeps. If I unplug the other cable (gray - in back) I still get beeping, but with F0 code. Does that take me back to the adaptor board that the control panel ribbon cable plugs into? Hmmm.

Thanks,
Vonnie
