Default Caloric electric range and oven trips breaker
Brand: Caloric
Model Number: EHA315
Age: More than 10 years

I moved about 6 months ago into a 27 year old home, looks like all appliances were original. Range and oven had been working great. Last night went to use range and wouldn't turn on, oven also. My hubby checked the breaker, it was tripped. Reset it and tried to put it on again, it tripped breaker again.
This stove is direct wired. Could not see anything awry. Anyone have any ideas?
We knew the appliances didn't have much more life in them, but this seems to be an electrical issue.
Any comments would be appreciated.

If the breaker is tripping as soon as you turn it on there is a short circuit.

A Wire could have burnt off and is now touching some metal.

Shut the breaker off and take the back panel off the range and look for burnt wires.

Here is a link to your range model EHA315.

did the breaker trip as soon as you reset it or when you tryed to use the range. What part of the range were you using, may just be the heating element
