Exclamation Burned out element?
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ARTC8600WW
Age: More than 10 years

During the cooking of the Thanksgiving turkey, it appears that the oven may have had it's element burn out. It looks like it might be a repair that I can make by getting a replacement part here. Outside the fact that the element doesn't heat up anymore, is there any other way to determine that this is the correct solution? And, is it really that easy to repair myself?

Also, the right front burner seems to have a stuck "sensor" for lack of a better term. The little light that shows the burner is on (on the control panel) stays on even after it has cooled down. If you thump the burner, it resets. What do I need to do to fix that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tom

To change the element is very simple, do this yourself if it is the problem!

Normally when an element burns it will leave blisters on it or burn in half, this is the visible way, If you have a multi-meter touch one lead to each end and listen for the beep, No beep means a bad element!!!!!

The light for the burner------>>>>> If its the (element on light) that stays on then its probably a switch, If its the ( Surface Hot) Light then its a probe in the center of the element thats bad, need to replace the element!!!!
