I am having the exact same problem on a KitchenAid Electric Glass Cook Top with cast-iron elements. When we turn it on it is wide open no matter until you turn it to off. My model number is KECT365 is is approx. 12 years old. Wonder if my problem is in the switch. I would like to have a good chance of knowing it is, as KitchenAid will not accept returns on electrical parts. Jerry
