Default Built In Oven
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 48035
Age: 5 - 10 years

This built in Kenmore has two ovens, the top being a combination convection oven. The broiler element burned out on the top oven and I can't see how it comes out. There is a metal plate at the base of the element, and it seems like it may have to be accessed through the back which would mean the oven would have to come out of the cabinet. Does anyone know how the element comes out? Looks like the oven may come out as a shell, with screws. Wish I had a breakdown diagram.

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,
I had the same problem with mine. There are two screws, one on either side of the flange at the back of the burner. I removed those and tried to pull the burner out, but met with a lot of resistance. When I finally pulled it free, one of the leads came with it and one did not. So I ended up pulling the entire unit. There were just a few screws around the perimeterr that had to be removed before the entire unit came free. It was not that hard. Once you have access to the rear, you can see the leads connecting to the back of the burner elements. My problem is that I pulled the element and tested the leads and they have no power.
