Default Broken Whirlpool Oven Lock

Model Number: RS696PXBQ4
Age: 5 - 10 years
Model RS696PXBQ4, the oven lock is out of sync and the oven door won't close properly. I need to find a way to get into it. Does the cooktop lift up or the oven come out? There are so many screws I don't know where to start... Thanks for any help you can offer.

It sounds like I have the same problems....the latch for my Frigidaire Crown Series range (12 years old) is stuck in the lock position.Fortunately its locked OPEN instead of closed.

The door closes enough for us to bake without losing much heat, but it looks funny and the CLEAN light stays on constantly. Also, putting the oven in CLEAN mode now does nothing.

I've unplugged it for a few minutes hoping something might reset. Any other thoughts?
