The top developed a circular black spot, looks like it melted the glass. This was a couple weeks ago. We stopped using that burner, and yesterday while baking something the top cracked, complete crack from back to the front. I've read that this is something one can replace on their own. I am a mechanic and it appears like an easy enough job. A couple questions:

1. Can/Should we still be using the stove in any way? Is it safe?

2. More importantly, where can I find the replacement top for it? I looked on partselect.com and had a price of around $400. Might as well get a new stove for that price.

I've been using mine broken for a couple of years. The cost of a new top and new cook top burner that quit working because of getting dripped on is definitely as much as the cost of a new one. I'll be getting it soon.
