Sheila, you seem to be the go-to person about these cooktops. I, too, dropped something (a flashlight) on my GE Spectra ceramic cooktop. I am beside myself! Parts estimate is $285 and installation labor estimate is $170! I searched online and found the part for $235 at its cheapest, but I'm still not convinced I can install it myself and feel safe about it. Here's the thing: it shattered in the front right corner, on the outer edges of the largest burner. If I don't ever turn the burner on, can use the other, smaller burners and/or the oven? It would be nice if I could use the other burners and postpone the replacement cost for a few months.

You should not use your cook top at all it is unsafe to use.

Replacing the top is not that hard.

With the GE I think the glass come in the frame which makes it even easier.

Can you please provide your model number?

Thanks! The model number of the range is JB960W0B4WW. They told me the part number for the cooktop is WB62T10029.

It is ps253858.

This top does come with the frame.
