Default Broken ceramic glass cooking surface!
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: PLEFMZ99ECF
Age: 1 - 4 years

I shattered the top of my Frigidaire ceramic glass cooking surface this morning, and needless to say it's now inoperable. I checked out the specific model/parts diagram for the "Top/Drawer" and it seems part "PS1528289" (MAINTOP) is what I need. Is that correct? Also, it seems that it'd be best installed by a trained tech. Any idea on approx how long it should take them to install? Is it a waste of my $$ to have it replaced or should I just go out and drop the <gulp!> cash on a new range? I've only had this one about 18 months!

Also, can I still use the oven while waiting to have the cooktop repaired? I dread the idea of take-out food for the next couple of weeks!!

Yes PS1528289 would be what you need.

The top should take about a hour to install.

It is not that difficult to do.

I see no reason that you can't use your oven.
